… about conversations with God, with me, and with the people around you. Sound strange? Let me explain.
Take the first print in the 2023 series. Print 1, 2023, “Mary hugging Jesus”. There are at least 3 ways to engage with this:
You can hang it on the wall as a beautiful image.
You can use it as a visual devotional, something that prompts you to meditate on Jesus, faith, questions, Easter, and so on.
You can start a conversation with me about what you see in the print. I will then join in with you. This will extend the meaning in the print.
I think of this conversation as an estuary.
An estuary is a relationship between the ocean and the river and the land, where salt water mixes with fresh. It is a relationship of abundance, shelter and restoration, where layers of ecosystems work together to renew beauty in our world.
Like the estuary, the conversation around the print is where you, me, God and the world around us all mix together to create new things. It is also a relationship of abundance, shelter and restoration, sharing about hope, connection, beauty, spirit, and wonder for God.
Let me start the conversation here with Print 1, 2023. The subject is after Jesus has risen from the dead, and he visits Mary. I see in this print restored identity in Mary, and joy, and a celebration of an intimate relationship. I also see the bright light behind them placing Mary in shadow. For me, this describes her humility, her quiet leadership, and her softly spoken love for Jesus. The light behind also creates a halo around her, a light of anointing on her.

How the print series will be released in 2023:
I will create 6 small prints. Each 12cm by 12cm (A5 size). Like the one pictured here for April/Easter 2023: Print 1, 2023, Mary hugging Jesus. These small prints will be released monthly, starting in April. In 2023 you can purchase these individually.
I will also post this print to my Instagram and Facebook account, and you can join the conversation. I will gather some of these comments and publish them on my website.
I will also create a 7th print, a larger print at A4 size. In 2023 this print will be on the theme of Jesus’s birth.
Each year, 3 prints will be devoted to key moments in Jesus’s life; his death and resurrection, his baptism, and his birth.
In 2024 the prints will be available to subscribers.
Subscribers will receive each month:
1 print, 12cm square, on 200gsm paper.
One card with details of the print, comments about what I see, and invitations to join the conversations.
