Breathe, Shine and Seek to Mend #2

This series uses the cross as a symbol for faith and my own journey or losing and recapturing faith. The series of small paintings are not a retelling of historical events. They describe my journey in and out of faith, where I hated Jesus, loved him, where I lost wonder for Jesus and then recaptured it, and my attempts to control him and where I let him be beyond my imagination. 

I hope that in sharing my journey with you that you can see yourself in some of them, and have a conversation with Jesus on your own terms.

The series was originally installed in Hobart Baptist Church, June 2021, as part of their Luminous Festival. The festival included panel discussions on contemporary topics with prominent members of the community, which is the photo below.
