Wonder: An Advent Project

This art installation involved ten groups of children, creating ten separate artworks, which were revealed to the public across 20 days of the Advent Christmas period in 2020.

A creative space and a huge stage were placed in a local shop in Devonport, Tasmania, and children were invited through play to tell their own unique versions of the Christmas Story, however they see it, with their own unique perspectives. The result was powerful, creative, and unexpected stories that brought a fresh voice to this old story.

This work was a collaboration between myself, who created the idea, and educators Hannah Alexander and Penny Clark, who helped the children explore Advent and create the works.
